Gang Town edition by Don Pinnock Politics Social Sciences eBooks

Cape Town is two cities. One is beautiful beyond imagining, known since its beginning as the 'fairest cape' in the world. Here tourists come to lounge on beaches, scale misty peaks and dine in fine restaurants. The other is one of the most dangerous cities in the world, where police need bullet-proof vests and sometimes army backup. Here gangs of young men rule the night with heavy calibre handguns, dispensing heroin, cocaine, crystal meth and fear. This is the story of the second city… In Gang Town, investigative journalist and criminologist Don Pinnock draws on more than thirty years of research to provide a nuanced and definitive portrait of youngsters caught up in violent crime.

I found this book catered to so many different audiences who may have an interest in gangs, especially those found within the Western Cape, South African context. The author has divided the book into 4 sections which begin with the history of gangs in and around Cape Town and continues all the way through to practical things that need to be done to create a new youth who have choices outside of joining gangs.
Each section can be read on its own and in any order.
I found the impeccable research and easy-to-read sections absolutely fascinating. It provided me with a huge amount of insight and I thoroughly enjoyed each section.
The book not only informs, but moves to inspire onlookers and those affected by the plight of gangs, to take action.

Gang Town edition by Don Pinnock Politics Social Sciences eBooks Reviews
This is a gripping and accurate account of what life is like on the Cape Flats. Very well written and an easy read. For people from this region it is a must read.
People who are advocates for autistic and disability pride can block me all they like. But when my book is published, they will be sorry.
